Take a look to the landscapes in our Otavalo Hacienda, and enjoy the colonial art involved in the 1640 building making our Otavalo Hacienda a remarkable piece of colonial art.
ABOUT US
In 1640, the Freile family was adjudicated, directly by the King of Spain, the title of ownership to the Hacienda San Francisco near Otavalo and its annexes. And 20 years ago, Don Pedro Freile, current owner, opened his doors to hundreds of travelers, inviting them to enjoy the beauty of Ecuador Hacienda.
The Hacienda San Francisco is located just 2 ½ hours from the city of Quito. Traveling via the routes of Imbabura, you will pass through towns internationally renowned for their culture and artesania (handicrafts), such as Otavalo, Cotacachi, and Ibarra, until you arrive to Chachimbiro, prestiged spa of thermal springs, located 3 km from the hosteria.
Due to its seigneurial architecture, it has been converted into an ideal vacation spot and stands out for its gastronomy specializing in traditional “hacienda” cuisine and the foods typical to the region in which it is located.

Restaurant

The restaurant of Our Otavalo Hacienda offers a home-style menu with a “hacienda” flavor, creatively combining Ecuadorian and international cuisine—and accompanied by delicious hot tortillas made in a tiesto (clay pan), traditional to the house.
Beside the pool, or in our dining room with a stoked chimney, or wherever you feel most comfortable, but always with high-quality products that come from our own ecological garden.

This allows us to offer our clients special meals elaborated with primary ingredients our gardener cultivates with great care and dedication.
We are always concerned about the continuous training of our personnel and applying the strictest norms in hygiene and preparation.
And, of course, the hacienda couldn’t do without a bread oven for you to bake your own pizzas and bread.
